Following the success of this drama, TBS decided not just to release 2 DVDs, but now they going to release the “Documentary of ROOKIES - Complete Edition” which will be release on October 29, 2008. TBS even mention that this DVD consist those scenes that you can’t find in the other 2 DVDs.

Sypnosis :
The story centers on Kōichi Kawatō, a high teacher who attempts to raise his baseball team of delinquents out of suspension and into Japan’s Kōshien national championship.
Comment :
This the best drama for the last season. The story very nice and neat. Although I think there’s too much violence for 2 first episode, but the story getting better and better. The story not heavy, but touches my heart. Teach us to hold tight our youth dreams. It can make us cry and laugh in the same time. I really recommended this drama. You won’t regret it.
Trivia :
1. Following the success of the drama, there will be ROOKIES movie next year. The current working title is “ROOKIES~ FINAL~” with the same director who directed the drama.
2. The series did not air on May 24 or May 31 because of the 2008 Beijing Olympics volleyball qualifying matches.
3. The series did not air again on June 21 and July 12 to give way to the broadcast of the Women’s Volleyball World Grand Prix 2008.
4. In the middle drama filming schedule, one of the cast Keisuke Koide had an emergency appendectomy.
5. The theme song is “Kiseki” from GReeeeN.
6. ROOKIES won the Galaxy Prize for July 2008.
